This year (2016) marks the end of an era

KuyaGermsiPad

Upon the passing of the “Master Showman” German “Kuya Germs” Moreno, and Alan Rickman, who portrayed the iconic role of the stern but caring Professor Severus Snape, I sense that 2016 would be indeed the peak–of the so-called “Year of the Grim Reaper.”

Premierminister Margaret Thatcher hat gestorben

Naaahhh… that is “Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher has died.”

Pardon mein Deutsch, however, even though I used German for the title itself, Frau Thatcher is actually a Briton.

She died of a stroke at the age of 87.

abcnews.go.com

She pioneered on what it is called as “Thatcherism,” which is a form of neoliberalism that supports the workforce. She is also known as the “Iron Lady” of British politics due to her conservative-authoritarian political beliefs.

After all, I’d say that she was the older version of Frau. Dr. Angela Merkel. Die Kanzlerin, on the other hand, is the “Iron Lady” of German politics, known for her strong-willed personality and charisma.

From gma.yahoo.com:

She pushed for privatization, lower taxes, and deregulation. And she sought to keep Britain from surrendering any of its sovereignty to the European Union.

Exactly, as it is. Her style of governing the British economy at her time is often viewed as “Reaganomics” in the United States of America. No other Iron Lady would do that like her. After all, she nailed it!

CGMA should have been like (the former) PM Thatcher, yet the former is actually more self-important and an exploiter compared to the latter, who is authoritarian, yet managed to bring Britain’s glory and had a great relationship with former US President Ronald Reagan and former Russian leader Mikhail Gorbachev (dudes, it’s GOR-ba-CHAWFF). She was also known to be anti-communist like former Polish president Lech “Weinachtsmann” Walesa.

If the UK had her as a strong-willed leader, Germany also has their very own Frau Dr. Merkel who is even more strong-willed but remains low-key.

PS: She’s the “Daw Suu” of Europe.

Paalam, Ginoong Robredo ng DILG

Shared via Facebook|The late DILG secretary Jesse Robredo shows a very good example to the government.

Of all the politicians in the world, why Robredo?

As expected, God usually saves the good people and lets them live in Heaven.

It’s a good thing for his family that they still hoped something positive when they are ready to face the worst news.

One of the people with a low-key profile, he’s very competent in his academics, explaining how much he was a disciplinarian to his children — in terms of academics.

Another great news to talk about: He never tried vices.

He’s the only guy I could actually call as “credible.” Indeed, a sincerely good man, I think other politicians should really look up to him. He became a Naga mayor at a very young age. He earned TWO degrees in Engineering in DLSU. Lastly, he really kept a low-profile life, serving the poor people. He does not discriminate.

Concern for his family

I was really worried what would his family think when the bad news comes? One of my teachers thought that being “saved” by the fishermen only happens in fiction, but not necessarily in real life. Also, people really assume that he’s dead — so it was for real that he wasn’t spared. Only his aide was, however.

Similarity to Antonello Joseph

Both valued education and work as their top priorities. Both passed away because of God’s will to let them enjoy a problem-free life. In fact, this means that “mission is complete.”

They were both people who do not choose friends or maybe — treat people unfairly. They treat people as if they are friends, and you’ll never doubt them, though.

May he rest in peace

He deserves not only a half-mast, but also a reward for his good deeds.

Goodbye, Whitney Houston

Yoroshiku Onegai-shimasu! I think, one of the legendary pop stars deserve a space here… and that’s…

vodpod.com|Whitney Houston in her MV, “I Will Always Love You.”

Whitney Houston, the pop legend that sang “I Will Always Love You” died on February 11, 2012. Apparently, her life was similar to that of Amy Winehouse. If Amy’s ex-husband Blake is an addict who introduced her to drugs, Whitney’s hubby did the same.

The tragedy isn’t new to us

It’s only that she isn’t one of the people in the 27 Club. However, resembling her life to Amy Winehouse, they had soulful voices that “sounded like bells,” according to a Yahoo! user. They both lost weight after they became very famous, due to drugs.

Whitney the Belter

Her songs are the subject of belting out and the soulful way of projecting the voice was all thanks to her. I first knew her on her duet with Mariah Carey, in “When You Believe,” an OST of the “Prince of Egypt.” Every song sung by her are the most iconic, next to Michael Jackson. No wonder, Whitney’s a relative of Dionne Warwick, a fellow African-American singer.

Death in the bathtub

This is the real reason: It’s probably that Houston committed suicide or maybe she collapsed all of a sudden, but that’s not the case at all. She was found dead in her hotel room, and this caused her daughter to be stressed. This was the night before the Grammy’s.

FAIL: Oprah mistaken to be Whitney!?

buzzfeed.com|The Facebook FAIL came viral.

Why is Oprah mistaken to be Whitney Houston!? It doesn’t have to mean if Whitney’s out of the limelight due to battle with drugs, why Oprah? I didn’t hear Oprah sing or maybe dance. Oh, well.

May you rest in peace, pop legend

“We will always love you… oh!” You will always be remembered.

Have Mercy, people!

So this time, people are having no mercy at all. They are heartless people who were indifferent. Here goes…

1.) Muammar Gaddafi
2.) Wang Yue

The most violent end of Gaddafi

Source: Reuters|iOL/The Star. Gaddafi’s end is finally the worst. I feel sorry for him.

Libya’s toppled dictator is already dead. Believe it or not, people inhumanely mauled him until he got shot. If Bin Laden was assassinated and Saddam Hussain was hanged, in Gaddafi’s case, it was the most painful thing a human being will ever see. We never heard bad things about Gaddafi, right? It wasn’t until everyone wanted to “steal” his position as dictator, like, “How would I feel if I were him, eh?”

Source: bbc.co.uk|Al-Jazeera. Gaddafi’s redness indicates the saddest fate ever.

Oh, please. Why can’t those people get a life? He wasn’t bad at all, yet they’re putting him on the bad limelight. If Saddam Hussein was hanged because of what he did, OR with Bin Laden’s plan to terrorize the world… is it because the most developed countries are against him? Or was he against those countries?

So, yeah. Actually, Gaddafi was really against the USA. But who despised him? France, that is.

In France, Muslim women who are wearing their traditional outfit often face discrimination. It’s because France is involved in the war against the Gaddafi regime.

You be the judge: Is Gaddafi a good or a bad man? Why or why not?

The media portrays dictators as “bad.” Well, do you think Marcos didn’t have a good side? Gaddafi also had a good side. Every dictator (except Hitler, that is) has their own good side.

The sad end of Wang Yue

Source: dailymail.co.uk|China Foto Press|Barcroft Medi

She was a victim of hit-and-run by two large vehicles. That was the most painful thing everyone could see. Now I was blaming Chinese society for being ignorant. Finally, the “Good Samaritan” law was established.

Alright. Although China’s a predominantly non-Christian society (the Chinese have many religions), it doesn’t have to mean that they should not help others in need. Good thing the one who found her deserves a reward.

Those 18 Chinese people need to be taught a lesson.

The Aftermath

I think both Gaddafi and Yue Yue suffered the worst torture ever. They were both victims of social rumble (crushed to death); in Gaddafi’s case, he was then shot after he was mauled; then put into a freezer while Yue Yue, she never survived her injuries. I feel sorry for her parents. While for Gaddafi, he deserves a final salute.

I really feel distraught about what people are doing nowadays. If they were just torturing Gaddafi for their satisfaction, they must’ve been monsters who wanted to seize his power as if they wanted to be like him, while for the Chinese, it is really NOT an excuse to leave the person for dead. Now they were again shamed for another undesirable act once more, I think they should really learn a lesson based from this experience. What now if a large vehicle “smashed” another small person, if that wouldn’t be a toddler this time? If most Chinese people are criticized for being rude, they themselves should not accept this fact as is. If they really “love” their people, or in other words, if they really exercise patriotism, they shouldn’t be ranting bad things if their fellowmen renounces Chinese citizenship for some reasons (Chinese passports are known for being one of the most restrictive passports in the world) OR throw stones at those people who are Chinese but have darker skin (especially the ladies). Take this in the case of Gong Li and Lou Jing, respectively.

Source: myconfinedspace.com

Gong Li was now a Singaporean in 2009/2010 and took the oath as a part of applying for citizenship but divorced her husband. Hmmm… do you think she’s re-applying for Chinese citizenship again, or simply stayed as a Singaporean? That’s what I do not know, but anyway, she defended herself against those netizens who condemned her for being a “traitor” and a “fake foreigner.” She said, “Although I have given up my citizenship, I am still Chinese, no matter what happens.” Well, of course, I do agree with her when it comes to citizenship. Most Chinese actors are doing this for practical reasons. However, to apply for Hong Kong citizenship is different. You are still Chinese, but holding a passport issued by a Special Administrative Region, giving more opportunities to artists who are from mainland China.

Next, we go to Lou Jing this time. She is slammed by citizens for her skin color. Wait… if Filipinos actually love white skin more than dark skin, it’s not really our faults since most of us are xenocentric. I may be some sort of racist but it doesn’t mean I’m pro-racism (I only do that in private). Do you think whites are better-looking than blacks? Black people rock more, actually. They’re hotter and are more talented. They seem more versatile since it’s alright if they color their hair and have eyes that are other than brown.

Now back to Lou Jing.

Lou Jing said that she rarely felt out of place, not until she joined Go! Oriental Angel, a reality show that showcases talent, especially singing. She was born to a Chinese mother and to an African-American father whom she never seen, in Shanghai. During her stay in Go! Oriental Angel, hosts fondly called her “Chocolate Girl” and “Black Pearl,” but when netizens saw her, they are using patriotism in a wrong manner, like, “Get out of China!”

Lou Jing was born and raised in China, speaks Chinese (Mandarin and Shanghainese) and of course, considers herself Chinese. It’s only the Chinese society that is not yet ready to accept the different realities regarding race.

Open-mindedness, people

The best thing to do in life is to accept globalization. It’s everywhere, even in the DPRK. If you think that change is not yet that acceptable, I think you guys should follow the examples of countries who are accepting multiculturalism.

Regarding dictators, however, not all of them are “bad” or “evil.” Do you think monarchs are the same? Of course not! There are still absolute monarchies in the world, but they are rarely to be found.

Why is the world so unfair?

from activerain.com; Steve Jobs (RIP) giving tech opportunities to St. Peter.

One netizen said,

Steve Jobs died, thousands mourned. Many African children dying of starvation, no one mourned.

It’s similar to the fact that (BTW from Tumblr),

People mourn the death of Amy Winehouse more than those who were the victims of the massacre in Norway.

NOTE: I have nothing against Steve Jobs. He’s an awesome man, so I really can’t say anything negative about him.

Let’s admit it. We mourn celebrities than those who are really in need, probably because when we see those poor people, we think it’s normal, it’s a way of life. Heck, there are thousands of people worrying about Paris Hilton being arrested compared to Lindsay Lohan’s issues regarding jail, breaking of laws, etc. We think that what Paris Hilton did is like, her mistake, but in La Lohan’s case, we think it’s normal, or we’re just used to it.

We usually think that celebrities deserve more attention than those who deserve positive attention. Those people in need should be the concern of most of us, like donations to transplants, like DUH! Give at least a centavo or a peso in that donation bank. It’s not bad if you give donations, or “pass the hat.” You think giving alms is bad? Well, in a poor country, it is. But in a rich country, it depends upon the laws implemented, so yeah, it’s probably a BIG no to give alms to the poor.

The world is really unfair. Nepotism and cronyism can never ever be avoided. The rich becomes richer, while the poor becomes poorer. That is the result of widening the gap between the rich and the poor.

Some rich people prove this wrong by simply be fair and doing what other normal people do. They do not have nannies or bodyguards, they just have the guts to survive, even at the most extreme situation. Just ask those people who dare crossed the border. :p

After reading this post,

a.) Reflect on your faults and sins.
b.) Always think that you’re not the only one who is suffering.
c.) Everyone is not problem-free.

1.) Create a blog post regarding this topic.
2.) Answer this question: Do you think it’s possible to make the world a “fair” and “just” place? Why or why not?
