Just Add Water 02: My First Watercolor Fair
Pardon me if I post this one–LATE! Yes guys, unlike before, I post everything LATE–I no longer post on time, like I used to like… within the range of 2011-2014. I cannot see myself anymore as a blogger, come 2014, until this year.
2016 sure is a tough year for me, or like, US–esp. that we lost a lot of important figures: Alan Rickman, Roy Señeres, Dick Israel–and not to mention Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago and King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand.
The Philippines may not be a bastion of art enthusiasts (honestly speaking, I think ONLY the elites appreciate all types of art, even though some are vaguely abstract). However, times are changing, and this watercolor fair is proving everyone that this country has a chance to be a bastion of art enthusiasts.
Because I am an artistic person myself, I did try my best to go back to art again. Sure, I still suck in drawing (LOL, until now), yet I do put my heart on it.

You may think, this is a “Walang Forever” moment to most of you, yet I have to tell you this: I will only be on social media through the web, but no longer on mobile. I have decided to quit Instagram (but not deleting my account there) because I myself no longer use the app (but don’t unfollow me yet–I’ll come back only when I feel like doing so). I might create a new account.
Oh, and I quit deviantArt for good. Come visit my Behance profile instead.
Social Media is toxic
I will only be active on Facebook only when it is necessary. I have deleted the most popular social media apps on Facebook is because, I don’t feel like looking towards the past–I still think that these posts on social media makes me feel like a loser (think about it–there’s nothing new in this world when you have Facebook on your mobile phone).
I only used Facebook just because some professors required it.
However, social media made my life more miserable.
Ironically, it’s the only way for me to keep in touch with my online friends.
It may be the only way for me to access news on my fingertips. Unfortunately, all the news that I read, are toxic. Duterte!? Yes, he’s the infamous rockstar who you see in tabloids.
Yes, guys. Duterte is toxic. I dropped him to be my president for 2016. Now, it’s solely Miriam whom I will have my vote.
But if I were to be asked, I will boycott the election. This upcoming election is WORSE than the 2010 elections. Also, Philippine politics is really toxic–more toxic than the most toxic and deadly lake in Russia.
No wonder, I expressed my thoughts to migrate to another country if Filipino culture still hasn’t changed.
Well, yes. I will migrate–yet truth is, quitting social media would do better.
Too late for you!? Nope, people outgrow things
It may be too late for me to quit social media, yet I have decided to quit right ahead. I dunno–I don’t want to be surrounded by poison. I think I’m getting brain cancer because of the annoying Peenoise trolling all over the Internet.
WHAT DID I DO!?
I am not asking for any forms of sympathy whatsoever. This is to inform you that my latest YouTube channel has been suspended by YouTube because apparently, I allegedly “violated” their policies.
Truth to be told, I wasn’t hurting anyone in my YouTube channel. If any case I violated anything, that would be using music that is copyrighted–however, I make sure I put credit to it, by placing the name of the song and the artist. Isn’t that enough for YouTube!?
I didn’t spam in YouTube, either.
However, here’s the thing. Instead of thinking that the YouTube community was elitist bunch of bigoted bashers, I believe that the same elitist detractors who go bash on my blog and other online accounts are the same people who reported my YouTube channel for their own sake.
Imagine, you put an effort from your hard work–editing, conceptualizing, and not only that, you inform people and showcase your work to the world. However, I think that the same elitists detractors of mine are not happy with my successful transition from a tertiary education student to a struggling photographer/videographer/n00b artist. Rather, they see me as a threat.
Why did I only address my issue with them now?
I believe that these elitist detractors think I am spamming their newsfeed. Wait, was I really spamming on YouTube!? HELL NO! If I were spamming in YouTube only to gain more likes and shares, that would be crazy. Promoting your work of art is DIFFERENT from spamming.
As if the same elitistas are “experts” in video editing or more intensely, photography.
I am in my last term in CSB. I am so proud, I didn’t need to showcase my grades in the said school, since that is more than enough for me to do better in my field of expertise. I upload videos in YouTube NOT to hurt anyone’s feelings. I would be insane if I upload only for the sake of damaging one’s reputation.
#RealTalk: I won’t upload videos that contain scenes that should be deleted.
Question is, who was the culprit?
Here’s the behind-the-scenes video of “Outdoors: Sunlight is King.” Hope you enjoy! LOL
The photos will be out soon. I am procrastinating right now. #fuck
As promised, this is the behind-the-scenes video I made… even though it does not look like a BTS video.
At last, Annie Lyn Rivas and Julian Sean in just one picture. I’ll post some BTS photos next time. (:
Originally, it should be Annie x Julian, but because it is a GROUP work, it should be something else. Pardon me if the title itself is really misleading. If you want a pure BTS video, just let me know.

Message to all the followers and fans:
I sincerely apologize for the long hiatus without even posting a hiatus post (OMG, this is the worst mortal sin I have committed). Anyways, I am now writing a book (I am doing my best to make this shit serious, I am not kidding this time!) about Elitism in the Philippines since its title will be, “Elitism in the Orient Pearl.”
PS: I am making a career out of it, so better bear with me regarding this one.
If you are a Filipino residing in the Philippines or abroad (or if you’re a foreigner who naturalized as a Filipino citizen), feel free to answer this survey I am conducting online if you are willing to help me finish this book without any qualms. This is the only way for me to receive true feedback from netizens residing in the Philippines and/or abroad.
To all the haters, bashers and the like:
Guys, do not misinterpret this one as attention-whoring. I know some of you (who are elitists) who will make an issue out of this post. Remember, I am writing a book, not creating some controversy or spark any issue that will hurt innocent people out of your intentional mishaps (lol). Just don’t answer the survey or buy the book (coming soon) if you don’t have any interest in doing so. My aim is to educate a lot of people who do not have access to social media, and I am making the price of this book as cheap as I could assign the price. Soon, I will come back to Photoshop or prolly have a new iPad mini (hopefully the iPad mini 3) with me, and there’s nothing you can really do with it if you think I am very harsh on my upcoming book haha.
No one can ever stop me from writing my first book. Just stay tuned for more updates!

Yay! I felt so delighted after I was granted a multiple-entry Japanese visa. This is actually, a blessing from God, I guess. Thanks to okaa-chan for this one! See you soon, Kyōto! Also, I could finally visit Tokyo Disneyland and Osaka Universal Studios wearing a kimono! Yee-haw!
NOTE to people who will be visiting South Korea: Sadly, South Korea only provides 110V North American outlets in hotels, but usually, they pre-dominantly use the Type-C/F Schuko plug/outlet. This is the first country so far I’ve visited that uses Europlugs.
Not surprisingly, South Korea has Christianity and Buddhism as their two main religions besides Confucianism. I have to say that Confucianism is more of a religious philosophy, not a religion. However, Confucianism has been embedded in Korean culture, that’s why if you’ll meet a Korean Christian or a Buddhist, they have accepted the fact that Confucianism has been reconciled with other religions. (:
We passed through Dunkin Donuts. Gah, the buzzer wasn’t functioning so the staff there was willing to give us our order. Kamsahamnida, eonni! It was very great to know how you’re willing to do your job well.
It’s a good thing that cosmetics and goods in SoKor are affrodable, though in the Philippines, it’s cheaper. Japan, however, is still gawddang costly, except for goodies.
We felt very spoiled as tourists in our hotel in Japan. Hmmm… maybe Japanese people are more welcome to tourists than TNTs? Well, that should not be a big deal after all, since Filipino tourists are the ones who are the luckiest. Or prolly it’s just me, though. SMH
WARNING: Fangirl Mode.|Well… here it IS! THE Sakai Masato aka the guy who is blessed with good looks and a sun-kissed complexion. I cannot… say anything other than the fact that he’s like a GOD here across Japan. Hahaha! #KomiSays: Does AA Klenk have that way back in the Philippines!? I bet, she’s only on a billboard within the poorest areas not only in PH but also in war-torn areas in ze whole, wide world (ROTFLMFAO!).
So I had this filter for the EF-S 15-85mm lens. Happy kid right here, like a boss! It costs around 5000 JPY, but it’s actually affordable to buy something that is considered as costly in the Philippines–since 1000 PHP is around 23 USD, but the biggest yen banknote is 10000 JPY = 5000 Php, which is big money already.
A night before we go home to Manila, I just had myself GLOW magazine with Kyoka Suzuki (Remember Keiko Schneider in Legal High!?) as the covergirl. Gah, compared to other gravure idols, she’s the most wholesome–up to now.
Hmmm… I guess these are the photos I could post for now. I’m very much excited to make a food review about Japanese KitKats! (:
Korean seaweed tastes nice… and yes, if I were to be asked, Korea and Japan are the best places to go! I think that I feel like at home in Seoul, since parang Pilipino na rin ang mga Koreano. ((: In other words, nasanay na tayo na andiyan sila, therefore, they’re always welcome in the Philippines.

Yes, and I have revealed, even before, that I am Summer Dawn Ravenson. It’s been a long time that I haven’t read your blog. Yeah, I know I have closed my Formspring because of hate comments from judgmental people.
I know there are some people who know that I used to be that Ravenson person, well, no more. I do not use that pen name for certain reasons (and I know there are some people out there who are waiting for me to come out and devour me — LOLjk), however, I’d like to express my gratitude to you that you have included my former blog.
Well, I’d rather send it to you by mail. (:
